About The L-Project LA:
Our Herstory: In 2013, the iconic lesbian bar in West Hollywood, The Palms, closed down for good. Spaces for LGBTQI+BIPOC women disappeared. Seeing a need for lesbians to meet outside of the LA bar scene, in 2015, we formed a multicultural non-profit 501.c3 organization to promote lesbian art and culture. We created the very first Frida Festival, an art and music festival celebrating the life and legacy of a Frida Kahlo. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community! Our board is an all-volunteer, multicultural, and inter-generational group of LesBiQueerTI spirits with a passion for uplifting others.
Our Mission is to promote, support, and inspire LGBTQIA+BIPOC women and non-binary creatives through the arts and technology.
