In the face of today's signing by President Museveni of the Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2023, which will be gazetted tomorrow, Uganda's LGBTQI+ and human rights community is not going down without a fight. A Notice of Presentation of Petition has been filed in the Constitutional Court of Uganda, Kampala, to block the ACT from being implemented.
The Petitioners are: Prof. Sylvia Tamale, Hon. Fox Odoi-Oywelowo, Dr. Busingye Kabumba, Andrew Mwenda, Solome Nakaweesi, Frank Mugisha, Kasha Jaqueline Nabagesera, Richard Lusimbo, Eric Ndwula, Williams Apako, AND HRAPF.
As noted by Petitioner, and famed human rights activist, Kasha Nabagisera "the battle just began", Please keep an eye for updates.
