From food aid to resettlement, see how LGBTQI+ refugees are moving toward safety and new lives. Support the African Human Rights Coalition’s Travel with Dignity program.

A Glorious Site and Sight!!! From rows of food parcels to lines of suitcases, this is what your support has made possible. These images tell the story of years of survival transforming into the reality of resettlement for one of our LGBTQI+ groups in Africa (location withheld for safety).

Month after month, year after year, African Human Rights Coalition provided consistent food distributions to communities in several African countries - including this LGBTQI+ refugee community depicted in the picture - as they navigated an often long and uncertain path marked by hardship, resilience, and hope. Today, that same space reflects something extraordinary: transition, dignity, and movement. After as many as 11 years in transit centers and camps, individuals are now preparing to travel toward safety and new beginnings.

We are deeply proud of our work and of our remarkable ambassadors on the ground. We are also profoundly grateful to #UNHCR for their resilience, partnership, and steadfast support, working with resolve and commitment in some of the most challenging environments, making this refugee resttlement possible.

To our donors: this moment belongs to you too. Your generosity has sustained lives, restored hope, and made this transition possible for LGBTQI+ refugees.

We invite you to continue this journey with us through our Emergency, Food and Travel with Dignity Programs, as we raise funds for additional groups preparing to depart across several countries, while continuing to support those still waiting through our emergency and food programs.

African Human Rights Coalition works with LGBTQI+ refugees in several African countries with humanitarian support and advocating for individual LGBTQI+ cases and pathways toward refugee resettlement. We have recently opened our Travel with Dignity Program where we hope to provide suitcases for resettlement travel.
