Calling for the U.S. 25th Amendment or Remove both Trump and Pence

African Human Rights Coalition calls for the immediate resignation, failing which removal, of Donald. J. Trump, from the office of the President of the United States of America through any legal means, including and in order of preference: Invoking the 25th Amendment, or impeachment with disqualification. If the former is not invoked we also call for the removal of Mike Pence, as further discussed below.

African Human Rights Coalition makes this call with concern for the safety and security of all Americans and America’s interests abroad, as well as concern for preserving the sanctity of the U.S. Constitution and our democracy.

Trump has violated his oath of office, to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.

There is adequate evidence to prove that Trump instigated a riot with the purpose and intent of bringing about a coup to thwart the legitimate end to his term in office. This resulted in a domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol that left five Americans dead and many more injured. Trump took the helm of an army of insurrectionists to forcefully overturn America’s free and fair elections in an effort to maintain power. His actions, that of a tyrannical despot, is tantamount to an attack on America’s democracy. Trump has proved that he has failed to lead in the interests of our country, is incapable of doing so, and there can be no doubt that his every moment in the White House continues to present a clear threat to national security, the safety and security of the American public, and the security of Americans and our interests around the globe. Vice President Mike Pence and the Trump cabinet have a crucial choice to make. Pence, et al are either on the side of the American people, or choose to continue to foster a complicit relationship with a President who is clearly unfit to serve, rendering them all unfit. If Pence and the remaining cabinet members of this administration fail in their duty to invoke the 25th Amendment, as a matter of urgency, such would indicate their complicit behavior in this ongoing threat against the American people, as aforesaid.

If such is the case, both Trump and Pence must be impeached and removed, and Nancy Pelosi, as Speaker of the House, must be sworn in as President of the United States for the balance of the Trump term, until President Elect Joe Biden and Vice President Elect Kamala Harris are sworn in on January 20, 2021, as is the will American electorate. This is the ONLY way to ensure that our Constitution is upheld, our Democracy protected and the American people and interests secured. African Human Rights Coalition calls on both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate to immediately impeach Donald J. Trump and Mike Pence, with disqualification and remove them both from office.
