African HRC Launch

By Melanie Nathan, December 22, 2014.

Dear Friends,

It is with great pride and pleasure that I am announcing the launch of the AFRICAN HUMAN RIGHTS COALITION (AFRICAN HRC), an organization that has evolved out of several years of advocacy and case management work for persecuted LGBTI people in Africa.

For the past several years, I have developed sources, friends, and partnerships in Africa and around the globe, covering a myriad of issues impacting our LGBTI family in Africa. It is now time to unleash this work into an effective organization. Through years of activism, I have identified the many gaps in what is needed to fully support LGBTI Africa.

Never before has there been a riper time for an organization of this nature, to manage situations directly to impact individuals who have been robbed of their basic human rights through government, familial, and community persecution. It is my hope that you will all rally with your support, whether it is financial, or through the spreading of our information. With your help, we are willing to continue to chart even more of this territory.

What sets this organization apart is the direct start to finish case management and advocacy services we provide, either in-house or through trusted and well managed connections. To find out more about what we do, please visit-

Please take special note of our unique Ambassador Program:

AFRICAN HRC harnesses the leadership, expertise, and passion of African LGBTI individuals who are living in exile, through the African HRC Ambassador Program, by providing a platform for Africa’s LGBTI community to engage in direct services and advocacy benefitting fellow Africans. We are seeking to turn this program into paying stipends/jobs/contracts for LGBTI Africans in exile.

As 2014 closes, please consider us in your donation planning. Join us in making the world a better place for all LGBTI people.

Happy Holidays,

Mel.
