The African Human Rights Coalition extends congratulations to Reverend Mpho Tutu and to Professor Marceline Furth, on their marriage earlier this week, as well as to the Tutu and Furth families.
Rev. Mpho Tutu is the daughter of the Archbishop Emeritus and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Desmond Tutu. The couple tied the knot earlier this week in a private wedding ceremony in the Netherlands.
The Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation has confirmed that Rev. Tutu married her partner in a small civil ceremony.
This is both Tutu and Furth’s second marriage.
In a statement, the foundation announced that the couple will have a wedding ceremony in Cape Town in May this year.
The Rev. Mpho A. Tutu, an Episcopal priest, is the Executive Director of the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation. Furth is a professor in paediatric infectious diseases at the Vrije University in Amsterdam.
